Prior to submitting a query or samples of your work for consideration of an assignment, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the titles produced by Lighthouse Publications.

Because we cover tightly focused topics across multiple titles, most work is done by assignment, rather than query. We will occasionally accept a queried story for publication. The same applies to photography: most work is by assignment, but we will look at submitted projects for consideration. We reply as quickly as possible, but please allow at least five weeks. All material should be sent to info@lighthousemags.com.

Lighthouse Publications retains all rights to stories written on assignment from the company. Rights to stories accepted based on a query revert to the writer after one year. For photography: the rights to all images are retained by the photographer. Lighthouse Publications has the right to one-time print usage of the images as well as web use. Payment for freelance work is made within 90 days of acceptance of the work by the assignment editor and with a submitted invoice.
